Our Approach to Attorney Fees, Costs, and Expenses
We don’t charge hourly fees! To simplify and to avoid surprises, this law office charges a flat rate for expungement legal services. We also offer a sliding scale option or a locals discount.
Unlike other law offices that charge an hourly rate for consultations, research and drafting, there is no charge unless you decide to hire the Law Office of Cora L. Rose to prepare, file, and serve your expungement motion(s).
When You Pay
Your flat fee is payable at the time that we serve and file your motion for you, after completing its investigation, research, drafting, and signing.
We Accept Payment Plans! Break up your flat fee into as many as four months’ payments with no interest. If you opt to make installment payments, your final payment is due 120 days after filing.
Flat Fee Base Rate
We charge a flat fee for evaluation, legal research, and drafting the motion package for the first case you desire expunged. This flat fee base rate may be reduced by applying various discounts (see below).
The following services and expenses are included in the flat rate:
- Attorney professional fees
- Oregon State Police fee ($33)
- Investigation costs
- Service and filing
- Copies of all prepared documents
- Access to client communication portal and texting
- Notification to the Criminal Records Clearinghouse to reflect your successful expungement
Not Included: you are responsible for obtaining your fingerprint card and any additional expenses that may arise. We will contact you for authorization before incurring any additional costs.
Multiple Case Discount
We offer a generously discounted flat fee for each additional case prepared at the same time as your first (base rate) expungement case.
Brookings-Harbor Locals Discount
The Law Office of Cora L. Rose is pleased to offer a Brookings-Harbor locals discount in the amount of $100 off the regular flat fee base rate.
Sliding Scale Discount Based on Area Median Income
- We offer a 25% discount to households at or below 80% area median income.
- We offer a 50% discount to households at or below 50% area median income.
- For households at or below 30% area median income, they may be eligible for legal aid, or they may opt to hire our firm for expungement attorney professional services and receive a 50% discount.
Privacy Policy
All information received from a client is strictly confidential. Our firm takes every step possible to protect your privacy. The data submitted via this form is encrypted and secured using industry-standard 256-bit SSL encryption.
Your personal information will only be used in the event that you hire the firm to represent you in your legal matter, and then only when necessary in limited use during the course of your case.
